At St Mary's, we are excited about our learning, proud of our achievements, determined to be the best we can be, aware of the world around us, inspired by gospel values.

Welcome to St Mary's School

LETTER FROM HEADTEACHER:

Thank you for your interest in St Mary's Church of England Primary School.

We are an oversubscribed, one form entry school within the ‘village’ setting of East Barnet.  Our history of being part of the local and church community goes back hundreds of years.

We are proud to be preparing today’s children for the challenges of the 21st Century, by providing a broad curriculum incorporating new technologies, numeracy, literacy, science, humanities, Religious Education, sport, French and the arts.  Our values as a church school form the basis of our emphasis on the development of the whole child, socially, emotionally, culturally and spiritually. Click here to view our school's ethos statement which forms the foundation for all of our work.

In partnership with St Mary’s Church, children have opportunities to develop their understanding of the Christian faith, as well as learning about faiths and cultures.  We enjoy seeing children succeed in many different ways working in partnership with parents and carers.

A NOTE FROM THE CHAIR OF GOVERNORS - MAY 2017

Many of you will know that, through the so-called Fair Funding formula, the government is changing the way schools are funded. The governing body are well aware that this is coming and that it is likely to have an impact on St Mary's School budget. We are trying to plan for it, but at this stage we don't know exactly what the impact will be. I hope you will agree with me that it is better to work with facts rather than speculation. As soon as we know the impact the new funding formula will have on our budget we will let you know. We will keep you informed of how we plan to deal with any savings required. Continued careful financial management and close working with school leaders will hold the governing body in good stead to meet the undoubted challenges ahead. You have our commitment that we will strive to ensure  your children continue to receive the quality education that you both expect and deserve.
